Greening in business, technology and products should be encouraged to enhance Indonesia's ability to face the global market.

In early March, the International Energy Agency (IEA) reported a 0.9% increase in carbon dioxide emissions by 2022. As a result, greenhouse gas emissions from electricity production reached 36.8 gigatonnes.

Meanwhile, carbon emissions from coal rose 1.6% last year.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has repeatedly explained how to initiate the energy transition to new and renewable energies.

In line with Jokowi's ongoing program to develop the solar energy sector, SOHO (Solar House), a non-profit organization, has stepped in in Papua to enhance the potential of local resources through the use of solar panels.

Five sets of solar panels have been installed at Kampung Sanderek and Raja Ampat Regency in support of the Indonesian government's 2060 Zero Emissions program and one of its many efforts to develop green industries.

Even more impressive, the installation of solar panels in Kampung Savander was initiated by a student from Jakarta, Arnold Surgaputra. On Monday, the young man was able to shed more light on his project.

“I made solar panels in Kampung Sawander not only to ensure the best development of natural resources in a tourist attraction, but also to bring the joy of electric convenience to the local communities,” Arnold began.

According to Arnold, the use of solar panels is boosting green energy production in Indonesia, along with the government's renewable energy transition programme.

"The benefits are various. Local communities can get electricity through these panels, which creates a conducive environment - also for tourism. Foreign tourists who come here can do their daily activities with great improvement thanks to solar energy," said the old-student.

Christian Sawai, Director of Kampung Sawanderek, warmly welcomes these tablet formulations.

Christian says the Arnold solar installation makes the local community happy because it facilitates their daily activities.

Meanwhile, Stanley Rahman, Director of Community Development, Raja Ampat, thanked Sohu for taking the initiative to promote Papua through its green energy concept.

Arnold's inner goal of doing SoHo is honest and true. "The question is how far is the younger generation interested in Indonesia through the use of solar energy," Arnold said in his closing remarks.
Arnold's compassion inspires his hope to inspire the younger generation to embrace green energy through the wealth of care of Indonesian society.
