Solar giant Qcells today announced the completion of what it calls the "largest facility of its kind in the Western Hemisphere" in Dalton, Georgia.
It was also the first solar factory built after the Inflation Relief Act.
Qcells has increased solar capacity at its Dalton facility by 2 gigawatts (GW), bringing the total capacity to more than 5.1 GW. Factory This is the third expansion since opening in 2019. Two new solar products will be assembled here: the Q.TRON G2 residential solar modules and the two-sided modules for the consumer market. Dalton plans to produce about 30,000 solar panels per day. The plant expansion will create an additional 510 jobs, and Dalton will employ approximately 1,800 people by 2024.

clean energy sources. jobs,” said Justin Lee, CEO of Qcells.A $2.5 billion investment in the solar energy supply chain in Georgia, the largest green energy investment in the U.S. to date. This includes the expansion of the Dalton Solar Plant and the creation of a fully integrated solar energy supply chain in Cartersville, Georgia, which will produce finished solar cells, wafers, cells and modules.
By 2024, Dalton and Cartersville will employ about 4,000 people. Total production reaches 8.4 GW of solar energy per year, which is enough to heat 46,000 panels per day and 1.3 million households per year.
