Minneapolis has new incentives for free solar panel installations at the end of the month.
Alex Veck became a proud home owner in 2020 in Minneapolis.
"We love the area and we love dogs," Veck said.
The first features of Langfell's house caught their attention.
"The woodwork really speaks for itself," Weck said.

The 124-year-old house is undergoing renovations and upgrades, some of which will be electrified. The couple parked the electric car in the back with a charger in the garage and then decided to go solar.
"Thanks to the road, it's a treeless area, so we have good sun all day long," Weck said.
He did this through the free cooperative Solar United Neighbors, using the opportunity of wholesale purchases to connect reputable installers with a group of homeowners.
"You can take 30 percent of the cost of solar energy as a tax credit," says Bobby King, director of Solar United Neighbors in Minnesota.
Also, according to King, low-income homeowners in the city of Minneapolis can get incentives to buy the panels for little or no cost. King said the changes, which will begin in late January, mean more people are eligible for the benefits and that the pool for such projects will be larger after the new funding from the Legislature.
"If you participate in WIC, SNAP, Medicare, own a home or public land, and receive energy assistance, that qualifies you for benefits," King said.
Vek paid $28,000 out of pocket for the installation, excluding discounts and benefits. He says his old house needs more electrical work, but the self-proclaimed data geek likes to check his usage and see a lower monthly bill.
"It's really an investment in the future of the planet," Weck said. “We're proud of what we've done here, and we're proud to build our car in sunlight. It's nice to think about it."
To participate in such a sunny key, you need to own your own house and room in good condition.
